The Bar day

One day at Lorong Bar & Bites, on its own screens.

  1. Doors open at four

The POS opens on Dine-in order, the biggest button on the screen, with Takeaway under it and the floor plan and the kitchen screen a tap away. The first shift has already clocked in on their phone.

What got writtenTill open · float RM 200.00 · first in clocked 15:48
  2. Happy hour, on the drinks alone

The first round is two pints and a plate of wings. Happy Hour 20% runs Monday to Friday from five to eight on the drinks only, so the till takes it off the pints and charges the wings in full; nobody has to remember the hour.

What got writtenHappy Hour 20% · drinks only · 17:00–20:00
  3. Every seat at the bar, at a glance

The floor runs along the bar counter, the booths and the high tables: each seat free or seated, how long it has been seated and what is on its tab so far, with free, seated, reserved and bill-out counted across the top. A booking still on its way shows under Arriving. When Bar 3 orders another round, it joins the tab already open there, settled once at the end.

What got writtenBar 3 · seated 34 min · next round on the same tab
    • Open bills live on the table, not on a slip
    • Kitchen screen and till see the same order
    • Guests order and pay by QR; the table frees itself
  4. Closing

The day end adds the day up: gross and net, profit, every tender and every category, and the cash each till should hold against what was counted. Close the day and its takings post to the books as one journal, the way a bookkeeper posts the Z-report; its receipts wait for the month's consolidated e-Invoice to LHDN.

What got writtenDay closed · one journal posted · each till's count against what it should hold
  5. Lights off

Payroll has the day's hours already. The owner opens the month's profit and loss on their phone with today's sales already in it; nobody stayed back to add it up.

    What got writtenAttendance · 8h 12m counted for payroll · this month's P&L updated
