The Bike rental day

One day at Handy Tool Hire, on its own screens.

  1. The till opens

The front desk opens on the trade’s own button: what this shop does most is the biggest thing on the screen. Whoever opens up has already clocked in on their phone.

What got writtenTill open · float RM 200.00 · first in clocked 08:52
  2. The first sale

Receipt 1 is rung. Its SST is on the line, and anything it took off the shelf is already off the stock count.

What got writtenReceipt 1 · SST on the line · stock count updated
  3. Everything out, on one board

The board counts what is out, what is overdue and the deposits held. Each hire shows who has it, what they took and when it is due back, and an overdue one sits on top with its days over. The deposit is held, not banked; the item is reserved, not deducted from stock, until Take back brings it in.

What got writtenHire · 2 days over · deposit held · Take back
    • The deposit is held, not banked
    • On-hire stock is reserved, never deducted
    • Late and damage charges post against the same hire
  4. Closing

The day end adds the day up: gross and net, profit, every tender and every category, and the cash each till should hold against what was counted. Close the day and its takings post to the books as one journal, the way a bookkeeper posts the Z-report; its receipts wait for the month's consolidated e-Invoice to LHDN.

What got writtenDay closed · one journal posted · each till's count against what it should hold
  5. Lights off

Payroll has the day's hours already. The owner opens the month's profit and loss on their phone with today's sales already in it; nobody stayed back to add it up.
